Training & Development

Dar-e-Arqam schools are widely growing because of their aims and achievements. With the growth, the numbers of employees of all categories are increasing obviously. The increase in number of employees definitely brings complications in the set up. People are of different behaviors, competencies, ethnic backgrounds, experiences, mental levels, capacities and approaches etc. So when you are committed to bringing excellence & standardization in such a situation, you need to focus on training of the staff.
So here the emphasis is laid down on pre-posting training, on job training, regular monthly training & occasional special purposes training. In this regard, some foreign trainers & out side training institutes are also involved like London Montessori Training Centre & Intel Teachers Training, AFAQ, Pakistan Montessori Council, Institute of Language Arts etc. The current term Training Calendar is available here.

Pre-Posting
After a formal test & interview, selected teachers are offered two to three days workshop covering following contents.
(1)              Orientation
(2)              Subject teaching training
(3)              Class room management
(4)              Motivation of teachers.

On-Job

Dar-e-Arqam has arranged an invisible program of on-job training in which principals are required to visit the classes formally by making a schedule ensuring one visit in each section in a week. During their visits, they check many things like class room management, teaching methodology, work on note looks & work books, maintenance of class rooms, learning & response of students etc. On finding any thing lacking in teachers, she is bound to coach her separately through co-coordinator or other relevant persons or herself by delivering model lectures etc.

Regular Monthly Training

Every 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month are off for teachers. On 2nd Saturday, the teachers attend the work shops according to training calendar. That calendar is made after identifying major & crucial performance gaps. Two sessions are held in a day in four different training centers. The feed back is discussed in CDW meetings for future development.

Training Need Assessment

These are usual modes
(1)              Principal/Senior Principal request
(2)              Expert opinion
(3)              Self assessment

Training of Outside Graduates

Dar-e-Arqam also made a successful venture of arranging a two month training program for graduates other than the faculty members of Dar-eArqam Schools. More than 50% of those participants could join Dar-e-Arqam Schools later on, and showed better results.
